The NDK Explorer
The
NDK EXPLORER may well be the most widely used expedition kayak on the
planet, with circumnavigations of Britain, Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand
and South Georgia Island and a number of the Aleutian islands to it’s
credit. It is what an amazingly high percentage of high level coaches
and expert paddlers choose to paddle, yet many novices find it to be very
comfortable, responsive and forgiving. It has similar design attributes
to its shorter cousin, but higher maximum hull speed and more cargo room.
There is also a bit more cockpit volume. The Explorer is a fun boat to
paddle. It carves turns gracefully, and responds to paddler input with
consistency and predictability. Its high volume bow stops the nose from
plunging into waves and together with its soft rails and good maneuverability
gives a paddler a geat deal of confidence in surf. The keyhole cockpit
with thigh braces allows for good lower body contact and control. This
is a very well rounded, user-friendly boat. It has good speed capability
in all conditions, but is absolutely amazing in a following sea.

Length: 17 feet 8 Inches (5.40m )
Width: 21.5 inches ( 0.54m )
Volumes
Front compartment: 58 litres
Middle compartment: 39 litres
Rear compartments: 60 litres
Deck: 2.5 oz C.S mat plus foredeck rescue patch of extra 1.5 oz mat.
Hull: 2.5 oz C.S mat plus 8 oz cloth. 2 inch keel strip.
Double thickness
reinforced bow and stern.
Inside seam: 2 inch diolen plus 3 inch glass cloth.
Outside seam: 1 inch glass cloth.
The Romany Explorer was designed in 1993 with the following features:
• A low rear deck for easy rolling.
• A white water cockpit. Gives excellent grip, control and a quick exit if needed!
• Three compartments, including an offset day hatch, allowing access at sea.
• Sloping rear bulkhead
behind the seat, allowing the kayak to be emptied by
lifting the bow
(no X rescue necessary).
• Polished deck recesses.
• Plenty of room for large feet or warm winter
footwear.
• Exceptional manoeuvrability, with direction stability.
Very fast in following seas.
• Large round hatches
• Minimum weather cocking
in strong winds
The NDK Explorer LV
The NDK EXPLORER LV is designed to fill the demand for a lower volume cockpit. The LV’s cockpit rim is 3.5" (87mm) shorter than the standard and 1" (25mm) narrower with the leg braces brought back towards the paddler. It has the same hull as the Explorer but with a lower front deck.
The rim is 3.5" (87mm) shorter than the standard and 1" (25mm) narrower with the leg braces brought back towards the paddler. All kayaks have less volume and a redesigned front deck.

The NDK Greenlander
The Greenlander was designed along traditional Greenland Kayak Lines with the following features:
• Hard chinned kayak with a rounded angled cockpit sloping down to
the rear deck.
• Hull has a single chine.
• The front deck has three chines running into one, the single chine
then runs to the bow.
• The back deck is almost flat.
• Optional Extra Day Hatch & Bulkhead
• Designed for comfort and speed, with a sleek appearance.
• Can be used for extended expeditions.

The NDK Romany HV
The NDK Romany HV (formerly the Poseidon), is the new compact kayak design. It has similar paddling characteristics of the Romany, but it can accommodate much larger paddlers. It is slightly longer and wider then the Romany and it has more volume in the cockpit area as well as wider cockpit. Since it has slightly harder chines it has higher initial stability than The Romany and at the same time has great rough weather performance. Finally, a performance oriented compact boat for larger paddles. The outfitting is the same as other NDK kayaks.

The NDK Romany LV
The NDK Romany 16 LV is is designed to fill the demand for smaller sea kayaks, especially as the number of female sea kayakers grow. Instead of producing a new kayak I have decided to modify the Romany, Explorer and Greenlander Pro. For all of these models a LV (Low Volume) option is available. All kayaks have modified cockpits and reduced volume, while the hulls remain essentially the same. The LV kayaks have been fitted with a new Keyhole cockpit rim customized to fit smaller kayakers. The rim is 3.5" (87mm) shorter than the standard and 1" (25mm) narrower with the leg braces brought back towards the paddler. All kayaks have less volume and a redesigned front deck.

Dimensions: 16' x 21.5"
Weight: 54 lbs
The NDK Romany Surf
The Romany Surf, is designed as a day, play, short trip kayak for the larger paddler that wants that Romany performance. It has a wider keyhole cockpit than any other British made fiberglass sea kayak and has more volume in the rear to support the paddler’s extra weight and gear. The Romany Surf has higher initial stability than the Romany, and with its flatter hull and harder chines, it surfs even better…just ask
Fiona Whitehead. The hull design offers maximum support and the shaped foredeck allows for larger feet.

Dimensions: 16'2" x 21.75". Cockpit: 32"x 17.25"
Weight: 56 lbs
The P&H Capella 161
The Capella continues to be the mainstay of the P&H range. The family has now been extended with a tailor made 161, offering the popular mix of tracking, performance and stability to the smaller and lighter paddlers or those looking for something more playful.

Dimensions: 16' 1" x 21.5". Cockpit: 31" x 19.25"
Weight: 52.2 lbs
The P&H Capella 163
This mainstay of the P&H Range has all of the design characteristics expected of a classic British sea kayak. Its moderate 'V' hull provides a good mix of tracking performance and comforting initial stability whilst soft chines give responsive edging coupled with confidence inspiring secondary stability.
Like all kayaks in the Exploration range, the Capella is designed to excel as a sea kayaking all-rounder; featuring sufficient manoeuvrability to explore a coastline's nooks and crannies, whilst retaining plenty of speed for long open crossings.

Dimensions: 16' 5" x 22". Cockpit: 31.25" x 19.25"
Weight: 53.9 lbs
The P&H Capella 169
First designed in 1996, the Capella is the mainstay of the P&H range. From complete beginner to experienced rock dodger, the Capella is suited to all paddlers and all conditions. It's moderate V hull provides a good mix of tracking performance and comforting stability. The soft chines give responsive edging and rock solid secondary stability. Paddling this boat will quickly improve all aspects of the paddler's ability as well as their confidence. Available in four sizes, the 169 is best suited for paddlers from 170-210 lbs.

Dimensions: 16' 9" x 22". Cockpit: 31.25" x 19.25"

Easky 15 by Venture
The Easky 15 is a boat to grow with you.
On a river trip or a sheltered lake journey you'll have no problems, there is also the capacity to carry some extra kit and make a weekend of it.

The Easky 15 gives you plenty of options:
• If the breeze picks up and brings waves, or theres a small swell
pushing through, the sleek nose will cut through the waves whilst
the boat stays rock-solid stable .

clothes from under your deck elastic and carry on.
• If the water is mirror flat, you'll appreciate just how far you can paddle
with an Easky.

Easky 17 by Venture
You’ve got a long way to go but it feels like a paddle in the park in the Easky 17. Whether you’re out from shore in open water, cutting through the swell to the other side of the bay or you’re at the start of a three day river journey on glassy-smooth water, you’ll barely break a sweat.
The long, sleek touring hull feels as effortless as a thoroughbred sea kayak but it’s still as easy to paddle as a tourer. With this speed and efficiency, it’s also a great load carrier: if you need to pack in enough equipment for a couple of nights in the wilderness, the long running length means your cargo will hardly even affect how it paddles.

Dimensions: 17' 7"x 23"
Weight: 58 lbs
Island Kayaks Expedition
In keeping with the traditional roots of modern sea kayaking, we present the Island Expedition. This boat will look familiar to fans of traditional kayak designs -- the hull profile is closely based on that of a kayak from the Uummannaq Fjord area of West Greenland. However, the keel line has been subtly modified to move the pivot point forward.
The moderately vee'd cross section makes for a sea-kindly hull and the slightly fuller lines fore and aft combine increased carrying loads with a more comfortable ride compared to excessive plunging associated with very fine entries and exits. The Expedition was designed by Donacha Drew, a paddler with over fifty years experience designing and paddling kayaks at sea and includes innovations that experienced paddlers will appreciate.
For instance, the kayak features finger grips molded into the glass at the bow and stern. These help ensure the boat stays in your hands and can give you more control in rough seas than traditional toggles, particularly in rescue situations. The kayaks also features carrying straps, which are fit to a recessed stainless steel fitting at bow and stern.
• Large KS oval hatches ford and aft.
• KS day hatch.
• Molded handgrips in bow and stern.
• KS Ergo toggles in bow and stern.
• Recessed stainless steel U bolt for securing.
• Webbing carrying straps.
• 19 recessed nylon deck fittings with 6mm deck lines
and 5mm shock cord.
• Molded recess for Henderson Compact 50 pump and handle.
• Molded recess for Silva 70 P compass.
• 6mm PVC offset skeg to allow for easy storage aft of
skeg box.
• Hand deck control for skeg running on a stainless steel
bar.
• Adjustable aluminum Yakima footrests.
• Glassfibre seat forming the bulkhead at rear of cockpit.
• Additional bulkhead to rear of day hatch.
• Adjustable Island Kayaks backrest.
• Zippered nylon kayak transporting bag plus accessory
pack of wet bag and cockpit cover.
