Kayaking in Charleston with Sea Kayak Carolina
The shop's 1731 Signal Road location is easy to find – when heading toward Folly Beach on Folly Road, Signal Point Road is the first right past Fort Johnson Road; look for EMS Station No. 4, and turn right onto Signal Point Road. Turn left at our kayak and banner.
Sea Kayak Carolina's owner-partners are (l to r) Sue Kershaw, Scott Szczepaniak and Deb Mitchum. Each is an avid Lowcountry paddler in their own right and you could meet any (or all) of them on one of our guided tours. All three are playing an active role in the store's launch and day-today activities as well.
Enter the store and you'll find our WiFi Lounge: In addition to serving both new and experienced paddlers in the Charleston area, we hope to foster a sense of community among Lowcountry paddlers. Come enjoy a cup of coffee in the lounge or join us for a Thursday "Movie Night;" We're always glad to see folks – whether to talk paddling, or just say "hello."
We carry a complete line of quality boats and equipment. With a great selection of sea kayaks by Epic, P & H, Nigel Dennis and more, we're sure we can match you with a boat that fits your needs. And we have a wide variety of PFDs, splash tops, water shoes and all the accessories to make your time on the water both safe and enjoyable.
Your paddle and your boat both have to fit if you are going to get the most from your paddling experience. We carry a selection of some of the finest paddles available, from leading manufacturers at Werner and Epic. Visit us for a strong light paddle that fits your paddling skill and style.
Getting out and paddling is what it is all about. We'll provide all the equipment you need for a wonderful Lowcountry paddle on one of our guided tours – or in one of our kayaking skills classes. And when you're ready to choose your own equipment, we'll be glad to provide our expert advice.
