Tow Lines
Having a reliable personal towing system and the knowledge of how to use it is essential to coastal kayakers. In addition to aiding injured and exhausted paddlers, it can also be used to help slower paddlers stay with a group and keep them from getting exhausted or injured.
Towing can be a risky business with the possibilities of towlines getting tangled or snagged. You can't be too careful with lines in the water. We use waist mounted systems with a quick release mechanism built in so you can easily get out of the rig if needed.
Sea Kayak Carolina stocks personal tow systems from North Water, who are recognized in the industry as a premier manufacturer of kayaking safety equipment. Check out some of their exciting products below:

Dry Bags
There is an old saying among kayakers concerning drybags – “You can’t have too many” – a concept we wholeheartedly agree with here at Sea kayak Carolina. It’s typically better to have several smaller dry bags than one big one. This is because they pack easier that way. Also, we like to write on the bag what’s in it for quick identification.
On a typical kayaking daytrip members of the staff here will have at least four dry bags with them. A hypothermia kit (stuffed with old fleece and other synthetic warm clothing), a personal bag, a first aid kit and extra clothes for ourselves in final bag. For more extended trips we would have even more gear bags.
Below are some of the quality dry bags we stock in this shop. Please call us at 843-225-7969 to discuss all of your gear needs.
