Epic GPX Kayaks – Save $500 on Ultra and Performance Layups

The Epic GPX is the evolution of the successful GP model. Originally designed as a "General Purpose" kayak which would outperform all other "rec boats," the GP in GPX could just as well stand for "Great Paddle."

GPXs In Stock and On Sale:

    ›› GPX Ultra, White/White/Red - was $2495, NOW ONLY $1995 SOLD

    ›› GPX Performance
            Yellow/White/Black - was $1995, NOW ONLY $1495 SOLD
            Red/White/Black - was $1995, NOW ONLY $1495

Designed from the ground up to appeal to a broad range of kayakers, the GPX blends great stability, with super light weight, optimal tracking and speed beyond what its 13-feet would predict.
PandH Scorpio
GPX Specs:
Length: 12' 11" (3.94 m)
Width: 25" (63.5 cm)
Depth: 11" (28 cm)
Capacity: 275 lbs (125 kg)
Cockpit: 35.5" x 18" (90 x 46 cm)

Available in three construction types (see left sidebar) at 25, 31, or 37 lbs., the GPX is a pleasure to carry – 15-20 pounds lighter than similarly sized rec boats.

The GPX is properly outfitted with two bulkheads, front deck cutaways, a large rear storage hatch, heavy-duty, full deck lines and outfitting, and an adjustable backrest designed to comfortable fit any paddler. The GPX is a one-of-a-kind boat that avoids the quality and feature compromises common among the competition's smaller boats. This makes it a great choice for anyone looking for a comfortable, responsive day-touring kayak that is as easy to manage on land as it is in water.

Owners have consistently had very good things to say about the GP and the GPX:
Follow the links below for the full versions of these paddlers reviews and impressions of the Epic GPX and its predecessor the GP (links will open in a new window or tab.)

“I find it very easy to paddle, and
it is fast for a relatively short kayak.”
— via Paddling.net GP reviews

“The boat turns well and responds to all strokes well. Rolling the Epic is a breeze and it is a good size and weight for learning/teaching rolling.” — from South Australia's Canoe.org GP review

“What's not to love...it is lightweight, reasonably priced, fast, turns on a dime, it's very comfortable...and I easily keep up with my friends in their 18- and 19-foot kayaks.” — more from Paddling.net's GP reviews

“I am sure this yak is not for everyone, but if weight is a concern, check this boat out, it's truly "one hand" light!” — Bob's Paddling.net Epic GPX review

For anyone who enjoys Lowcountry paddling – in our tidal rivers, creeks and marshes – and isn't planning to strike out into big ocean surf, the GPX is a boat well worth considering. Constructed from the highest quality materials used in the industry today, and designed to out perform other manufacturers' "rec boats" in almost every way, the super light builds and advanced hull shape combine to make a boat beginners will be comfortable in, that intermediate paddlers will enjoy being able to maneuver on edge, and, overall, think about like a much longer boat.
